The post-tensioned difference

A court held together from the inside.

Post-tensioned slabs use high-strength steel cables embedded in the concrete. Once tensioned, they place the whole court in permanent compression, resisting the soil movement and temperature swings that crack ordinary asphalt and concrete courts.

Ordinary asphalt / concrete Post-tensioned concrete
Tensioned cables keep the slab in compression, so ground movement can’t open structural cracks.
  1. 01

    Cables placed

High-strength steel cables are laid in a grid across the court before the pour.

  2. 02

    Concrete poured

A single continuous slab is poured with fence posts and net-post sleeves cast right in.

  3. 03

    Cables tensioned

Once the concrete cures, the cables are pulled tight, placing the whole slab in permanent compression.

  4. 04

    Built to last

No expansion or control joints, no structural cracks: a stable base for decades of acrylic surfacing.
